10 GW, ₹6,000 Crore: Premier Energies’ Mega Solar Leap

Premier Energies has earmarked roughly ₹6,000 crore of its ₹12,500-crore total capex program to venture into upstream solar manufacturing. The company will establish 10 GW of annual capacity for both ingots and wafers on a 200-acre site in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh. Backed by state government approval, construction is slated to begin immediately with a 2028 completion deadline.

The project marks a significant expansion from the company’s current Hyderabad-based footprint (3.6 GW cells / 11.1 GW modules). By integrating ingot and wafer production alongside planned expansions into batteries, inverters, and transformers, Premier Energies aims to mitigate supply chain risks and capitalize on India's push for renewable energy self-reliance.
